I ask because I have one of each and the 5.56 doesn’t want to shoot very accurately. I put a bore scope in there and it looks like they ran a dull throat and neck reamer in it and gouged it all to hell??. Anyone else see this in theirs?

I mean it just sounds like you got a friday at 4:45 pm barrel to me. Particular chambering is less relevant than it just being a poorly finished product.
What guns? |

Sig 553. I think it was hammer forged and nitrided and then reamed.
Gun is marked 2023 bbl is marked 2017 |

Regardless of .223 or 5.56 markings ALL barrels are chambered to the EU pressure. I wonder if the barrel is 1:10 twist ? EDIT Maybe not based on your other thread. What type of accuracy issues are you experiencing? I'm surprised this barrel passed test fire/QC. JDI import ? Did you buy the gun new? |

What ammo did you try?
Did you try any other ammo? What range/position were you shooting? Have you ruled out optics/sights moving? |

Multiple ammo including mk262 federal msr and known quality hand loads off of front and rear bags concrete bench. I can shoot and have similar rifles to compare to.

What optic, or are you using irons?
Always check the cheapest stuff first. Ammo, rings/bases, optics, etc. If you think the chamber is gouged, what does the brass look like? |
