Anyone have any experience with these 2 suppressors on a 5.56 rifle (SBR, it’ll be on a 10.3 Mk18).

They’re the same weight (11.8 oz) but the 762 can is 1.2” longer.

It will be on a 556 gun but I like the idea of having options with a purchase like this. Any noticeable difference in sound between the two?

The flow 762 also has more girth to it. That being said based on what pew science has shown on his chart for both cans on a 10.3 mk18 the Flow 762 beats the 556k at the muzzle by 8.1 points 33.9 (flow 762) vs 25.8 (flow 556k). The ear ratings are pretty close between both cans 29.8 (flow 762) vs 31.8 (flow 556k).

My only experience is shooting the 556k at a couple classes and its a very impressive can, very quiet at the ear so the fact that the Flow 762 is very close to the 556k at the ear and a lot better at the muzzle is pretty impressive. I got a Flow 762 on the way and im pumped since its my first can.

My friends and I (we bought 1 ea of the current LBP designs) are still waiting on the AFT so we can compare the Flows directly, so I can’t say for sure which would be better. With that said, its sounds like you’re already thinking about using it on other calibers, so I would suggest the 7.62 (or competing 7.62 cans) first, and circle back to 5.56-specific stuff later, assuming reasonably comparable performance.

PEW can be very confusing. While PEW shows the 762 with close to a 10 point improvement in muzzle rating, the 762 is only about 3dB better at the muzzle by PEW’s own numbers. 3dB is often said to be about the minimum difference human ears can consistently detect. Both are louder at the ear than various other suppressors with worse PEW ear ratings. Don’t mistake the PEW ratings for a measure of how loud they sound.

I have the FLOW 556K but I haven't tested it out yet.

My form 4 for that can and 2 warlocks were approved in 13 days. I haven't put the mount on a gun yet though so I haven't had a chance to test it out.

I only have the 7.62 Ti, still waiting on the 556k. To me the 7.62 sounds great on my 5.56 guns and 8 inch 300 blk. The only thing I don't like about it is how sparky it is. I have 2k 5.56 rounds through it and about 300 300blk and was hoping it would stop, but it hasn't. It doesn't gate my tube at night or anything, but for sure is visible.

Here it is on my 11.5 Geissele

I understand how the Pew numbers work being 3dB better at the muzzle than the 556k is a lot especially since we're talking about a dedicated 7.62 can on a short barrel 5.56 gun.

Don't get caught up in dB numbers data. I doubt I can hear a 3dB difference between two cans.

It's good that they sound nearly the same, but I wouldn't expect the 30 cal can to sound any quieter in the real world.

The interesting thing to me is the Flow7.62 is actually lighter than the Flow5.56.  So if they basically sound the same and the 7.62 is lighter, why should I buy the 5.56 can?

I have both, the 762 has a nicer tone imo. It's deeper and does seem more quiet.

But the 556k does pretty well for such a short can, I run it mainly on a 13.9 5.56 gun and it's pretty rad on that host. And makes for a short package

Can you weigh them?

The weight numbers on the HuxWrx site sound off to me.

Sorry if I misunderstood your previous comment then. Your first paragraph was discussing the ratings, and your second paragraph was discussing which was quieter, so I wasn’t sure if you understood the ratings correctly. A lot of people don’t understand that the PEW Ratings are not a measure of quietness and that a can with a better rating can actually be louder in terms of dB. For example, they see the high ear rating and assume that the Flow cans must be the quietest at ear, but the Flow series are actually pretty loud at the ear in terms of dB. They are good for back pressure though.

HuxWrx sells them direct: https://huxwrx.com/shop-all/muzzle-devices/
Cobalt Kinetics sells a muzzle device for the huxwrx suppressors: https://cobaltkinetics.com/product/rcb-hx/

All 5.56 huxwrx muzzle devices will work on the 7.62 Flow but not the other way around. This keeps people from threading their 556 flow onto a 7.62 firearm.

I just got an email from SS that Hux has come out with a Flow556TI. Appears to be a 5.56 version of the Flow762TI (approximately same size envelope at a glance).

It's actually lighter than the 5.56K. Nearly identical in dimensions to the Flow 7.62.
