Going to look at a 6 digit (4900xx) CMP Garand tomorrow. Guy bought it from CMP he says about 10 years ago. Currently looking for the CMP paperwork. Not sure about muzzle or throat erosion. He said he hasn’t shot it. Paperwork may state that. Asking $1000. Is that reasonable assuming the other stuff pans out,(rust, gauges, etc).

$1K for a USGI M1 in good condition that’s safe to shoot seems reasonable, that’s why they are called an M1 Grand!

The DCM story is great....trust, but verify.  Look for import stamp.

That said, $1,000 is just $500 in pre-inflation dollarbucks.  So, I'd be a buyer, yeah.
