[Last Edit: NesralG]
I’m trying to certify my eform 1 but I keep getting the fail message in the portal, after many attempts. Is there anyway to log into eforms that doesn’t involve using a link via your website?
I should clarify that I am able to log into my eForms account without issue. However, there’s nothing related to Silencer Shop form 1 anywhere. |
|
|
Are you using SilencerShop portal?
I would recommend doing it on a computer and not on a mobile device if you are doing it on mobile... |
|
|
Yes, via their portal.
I was able to login but there’s nothing there. Do they expect me to start a new form 1? |
|
|
|
Are you speaking from experience or making an assumption?
I’ve done a form 1 on my own. So what exactly am I paying SS for? Electronic fingerprints? If one still has to fill out the form 1 on their own and fill out a 5320.23 (responsible person questionnaire) then I totally feel duped. What’s the point? Edit: I hope that doesn’t come across as condescending, I’m just trying to figure this thing out Edit# 2: I've gotten slighty further, I guess. I can log into my eforms via the SS portal where it then directs me to the full auto page. Can't get past that though. Always ends in the same result. Session Fatal Error! Thank you for using eForms. |

View Quote In your Silencer Shop dashboard under the eForm 1 Beta tab, you should see a certify button. After you select that button it will launch the ATF eForm portal and the Full-Auto software will input all of the information for you. Please note: ATF eForms and Pay.gov have both been experiencing errors over the past week or so, making the certification process fail. I'll send you a message so we can make sure everything is working correctly on our end. - Chase |

Thanks for the reply Chase. I replied to your IM.
Publicy, for the sake of information. I have followed the steps you listed. When I follow the green “Certify Now” tab that’s listed under the eForms section of my dashboard it takes me to the main ATF eForms login page. I can successfully log into eForms, once I’m logged in it takes me back to the portal where I see the FULL-AUTO title but every time the session ends with the message “Fatal Session Error!” I’ve tried multiple computers and tablets, yes I realize that this is supposed to be done via a computer. I’ve tried Apple Safari and Google Chrome, every device, every attempt ends with the session failure. I can successfully utilize and navigate every tab in eForms as long as it’s NOT via Silencer Shop link. I can fill out a complete eForm 1, upload a complete 5320.23 (RP Questionnaire), and I can upload my trust information and photos. |

I like the idea of "ease of Use" gong through SS, but its definitely beta. Double tapped and submitted an order twice...now I got two stamps... then I get an error about "error reserving your firearm(s). Hopefully I can get a human to help me sort through it tomorrow.

I’m able to get as far as the responsible persons section, but nothing happens from there on. I can manually answer the questions and upload photo and fingerprints, but that defeats the propose of using SS.
Is the full auto thing supposed to fill out that section and upload the prints and photo for me as well? My thought is yes, but haven’t seen it do it yet. |

I just had them refund my form 1 last night. I again spoke with customer service on the phone yesterday and basically for their form 1 service they provide electronic fingerprints, upload a photo, upload trust info if applicable, and notify your CLEO. You still need to complete the form 1 manually and complete the 5320.23.
After receiving my refund from SS I logged into eforms and had my eForm1 completed 20 minutes later. I'm not trying to bad mouth SS, they are a good option for cans, but they got some bugs to work out with their form 1 service. Maybe in the future I'll try again.. maybe |

Got my problems sorted out today pretty quick. Once I hit the certify button it only took 25 minutes. Only issue was the applet/form that launched eforms was condensed so I couldn't see the whole form to check the box and hit next. Opening in a separate window via the link worked better. Overall pretty smooth, and I will use again. (I have spent 20+ years in high tech, so being a beta tester is in my DNA)

I used the silencershop form 1 process and it looks like the transaction went through at silencer shop, but I don't see a form 1 on the aft portal.

I’m in the same process. I started Form 1 info through SS, created a user profile on ATF website. Now I’ve just gotten the “certify” email from SS.
Does it link you to ATF form 1 process? You don’t have to go directly to ATF efile do you? Seems like the prints, photo, and actual Form 1 would all need to be submitted together. Is that what SS is providing? |

View Quote Can someone explain to me what benefit there is to paying SS $50 for each form rather than paying PrintScan $70 to get your EFT fingerprint file and submit however many forms you want directly for no extra cost? I just don’t get it and am wondering what I’m missing? |

I think it’s targeted towards the first time submitters. Perhaps a little peace of mind, idk.
For me, I wanted to see how easy and user friendly it was, or should’ve been. I couldn’t get it to work. For someone who’s done multiple forms on their own and they are comfortable filing, you’re absolutely correct. |

A little over 2 weeks ago, rest of the story is in this thread.
Bottom line, I canceled the order and had my refund quickly. I completed a form1 via the eForms website without a hiccup and had my cover sheet a short time later, mailed everything the next day. I just think that between Shot Show and the whole brace thing that SilencerShop is seeing a demand like they haven’t experienced before. I purchased a suppressor from them on January 13th and had all my ducks in a row that same day, Docusign etc.. and it wasn’t ready to be certified until yesterday. Edit: with all of that said, their customer service has been very good, and I will still continue to send them my monies for future suppressor purchases. |

Ooff. I’ve learned this morning that this is a not a “headache-free submission”. Full-Auto (TM) is super slow but it did take me through the steps for eForm submission. I got through my questions and payment and entered my ATF PIN number. However, next spinning wheel segment on Full Auto gave me a failed attempt / error. Kicker is that I got an email confirmation that the ATF received their payment of $200. Now what?
ETA: Ok, so despite the error messages I guess it did submit. Just got an email from ATF with attached paper copy of my submission. Looks correct but it's in "pending research" category. Model or manufacturer is "unknown" to the ATF. Really? A SOLGW 'LRF' lower receiver is "unknown" to them? Paperwork looks correct. |

I am getting held up at the "press continue when finished with the pay.gov window" step.
No window is open and nothing is happening. Anything else have this issue? ETA: Apparently I just had to gripe about it on arfcom. Just went through in under 10 minutes. |

Used it last night, took three tries. I don't think it's Silencer Shop that is the issue, but the ATF website logged me out the first two tries.

So it looks like mine did get submitted but on my eForms account it’s got a “pending research” status.
Something to do with the lower manufacturer or model number. It’s a freaking SOLGW LRF lower. Surely I’m not the first to SBR an LRF lower, huh? |

@SilencerShop
What’s the best way to get ahold of you guys? I sent an PM a few days ago and then called the office and waited on hold for an hour plus before I gave up. Thanks. |

I'm running into the country of manufacture issue between Silencer Shop and the ATF. I've been trying to certify my Form 1 for my MKE AP5 since Thursday and I'm 99% sure it keeps failing because the spelling through Silencer Shop is 'Turkey', and the spelling the ATF is using is 'Turkiye'. Please PM me if you can assist as a few other folks have stated that you were able to manually fix the form on your end. I've tried email, calling, and the live chat, and can't get anyone at Silencer Shop to answer. Update: Finally got through on the live chat. The agent told me that they would submit the requested Form 1 change to compliance to update the country to ‘Turkiye’. I’ll wait until tomorrow to try to certify again…fingers crossed. Final Update: Changing the country to ‘Turkiye’ worked as expected. The form went through on the first try this morning. Silencer Shop should add Turkiye to the country drop down selection since that is what the ATF is using in place of the American spelling of Turkey. |

Hey CPT,
You are correct the ATF recently changed the designation for a number of countries, including Turkey. We have added the updated spellings to the dropdown to help alleviate the issue, and our compliance team is manually fixing any applications that feature the incorrect designations. - Chase Originally Posted By CPT1-285TH: @SilencerShop Chase, need help with my Form 1. I am having this same problem, the "Turkey" spelling was not changed in compliance. I have now been on live chat (told to email), sent 3 emails. One email was replied to and said they would CC compliance but issue remans.
Hopefully gets worked out soon. |
